The Blue Moon was just as Rosli had described it. It was a multilevel restaurant with modern furnishings, lots of colored glass and plenty of neon lighting. The place stood out. It was, according to the Farm, very likely crawling with BR triggermen.

Even at this early hour of the morning, it was clear that the restaurant was very busy. The Executioner was not happy about having to leave the M-4 behind, but a man walking into a restaurant carrying a large duffel bag would draw attention. As it was, he and Rosli were dressed a bit too casually for the clientele of the place. There was little to be done about that. All he could do was brazen it out—and be ready to go for his guns at the first sign of trouble.

He was going to blitz his way through the place, roust the BR and see if he could find Jawan or, failing that, find someone who could give him some hint where Jawan might be. He did not kid himself into believing that Cheung’s deathbed confession was the beginning and the end of Jawan’s whereabouts. This might be where the boy was held, it might be a trap, or it might be misdirection. There was just no way to know, but they could only play the cards they had been dealt thus far.

Barbara Price had called Bolan and outlined the results of the Farm’s research. The Blue Moon was owned by a holding company that was in turn owned by individuals linked to Rajiv Singh. It was a tenuous thread, and the fact that Singh himself was not an owner explained why this particular location had not yet been raided by the forces cooperating with the Malaysian police. Bolan intended to get in and out quickly. There was no reason to cause Brognola any more heartburn than he already had, by getting the locals up in arms.

The big Fed had, according to Price, been working the phones nonstop, trying to deflect inquiries from various entities in and around Southeast Asia who were getting wind of the hot war Bolan was waging. The protests and questions had come from everyone but the government of Malaysia itself, which meant that the Malaysians and Prime Minister Fahzal’s operatives were deliberately refusing to acknowledge it. Their refusal spoke volumes. It meant they were dirty, that they had something to hide. Bolan wasn’t surprised by that, because the whole game had smelled bad from the beginning. It just remained to be seen how dirty Fahzal and his people were, and what exactly they hoped to gain through their involvement with the mess.

He and Rosli moved quietly and quickly through the crowds outside the restaurant. Rosli had refused anything but his usual revolver; when the real action started he would do his best to get out of the way. That was fine with Bolan, who didn’t need extra variables in an already difficult situation.

Price had been able to offer one piece of very valuable intelligence, which was the key to the slim, brash plan the two men were now following.
